H e l l o, t h e r e.
I am a secular humanist who loves to cook, read, venture & spend time with my one man entourage, Jeremiah Bigley.
I enjoy not being a racist, sexist, homophobic, specieist, ignorant, violent, apathetic, docile, banal, unopinionated, or rude person. I like to disrupt the narrative pace :)
There is no such thing as a lesser person.

Almond Milk is the BEST!! I love your groceries - so healthy! Good for you :)
ReplyDeleteI am aiming to give up red meat, but can I still eat poultry?
ReplyDeleteCan you still eat poultry? I don't know, can you? :)
ReplyDeleteI'd say eat what you feel right eating - it's your own personal choice and you don't have to try to fit into a certain type of category (ie. vegetarian, vegan, pescetarian, ovo-vegetarian).
I will support any step you take. Red meat sounds like a great start. That's on the top of my list (I have a hierarchy of animal products that I exclude, and red meat is the first on the list).
I think it'll be too difficult to cut out red meat right now, considering I cook for both JJ & myself. What is ovo-vegetarianism?
ReplyDeleteOvo = eggs, lacto = dairy, pesco = fish. Any of those in front of veganism or vegeterianism means that they include that in their diet (: Thought I might provide a broader definition.
ReplyDelete-nodnod- You inspire me!
ReplyDeleteoh and a tiny comment on why I don't eat white bread:
ReplyDeletewhite bread has a high GI (glycemic index), which means it makes your blood sugar spike, which in turn causes the production of insulin, the hormone that tells your body to store fat. whole grains and foods with higher fiber have a lower GI. eating less refined foods, foods with a lower GI also give you longer and steadier energy because they don't spike your blood sugars like refined grains do. And refined grains are almost devoid of nutrients - so they're just empty carbs. Sorry for attacking white bread.
I miss our french bread - dark chocolate concoction - remember?? Mmmmm..
JJ & I normally eat wheat bread, but I was craving french bread...extremely so!
ReplyDeleteyou mean whole wheat, right? both are made of wheat :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteNo, no of course! No one forbade occasional indulgence ;) I just thought I'd share with you some insulin related info; in case you were curious because I find nutrition fascinating. Scientists are in the process of discovering such interesting things about our biological processes!
